Now we have powerful cars, bicycles, wagons, dollies, airplanes etc for transportation. As the population increases roads are becoming bigger, longer and stronger. 1. Fairy Meadows Road

Fairy meadows road is an amazing and most dangerous deadly vertical mountain track. It is located in in the Northern Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan. It’s over 16 km length. This road is almost totally unmaintained  and it gets so narrow. There is no barriers to protect the travelers fall or lose control. The main features of these roads are treacherous high altitude, unstable and narrow mountain roads.

It is one of the most dangerous road in the world. You can’t travel by large vehicles in the last end of the road, it is only applicable by walking or biking. This deadliest road starts from karakoram highway and ends in the village of Tato. It involves a narrow 6-mile ascend on an unpaved and uneven road. It is the most dangerous risk road which prevents most people from enjoying the view.

2. Sichuan-Tibet Highway, China

Sichuan-Tibet Highway is a most dangerous and most beautiful road path. It starts from Chengdu of Sichuan on the east and ends at Lhasa in Tibet on the west. The length of the road is 2,142 km. It is the most beautiful road route where you can enjoy the real nature.

It is a part of China National Highway 318 (G318). It is the regular route for the truck drivers. The travelers can enjoy the changeable  scenery ranging from warm spring to cold and snowing winter. It is originally called the Kangding-Tibet Highway. This high altitude road is about 14,500 feet above sea level.

3. James Dalton Highway, Alaska

James Dalton Highway is one of the dangerous road in the world. It is a 414 mile in Alaska. It begins at the Elliott Highway, north of Fairbanks, and ends at Deadhorse near the Arctic Ocean and the Prudhoe Bay oil fields. Today the Dalton road is primarily a haul road for the speeding eighteen-wheelers transporting.

The main features of this roads are fog, fatigue, flat tires, facing traffic, passing traffic, potholes, gravel, grizzly bears, rain, snow, sleep-inducing silence, sudden engine failure, an abruptly shattered windshield and running out of gas.

4. North Yungas Road, Bolivia

North Yungas Road is known as  death road  is the most famous road in the world. The road connects the Bolivian capital of La Paz with the low-lying region of Yungas in the Amazonian rainforest. The length of this road is 56 km. The altitude is 4,650 m.

The road is so dangerous that drivers are required to drive on the left hand side so that they have a better view of their outside wheel. There is a 3 meter hairpin turns which are dangerous for driving. There are numerous mudslides and tumbling rocks, and small waterfalls. It is estimated that in between 200 to 300 people died in each year here.

5. Jalalabad–Kabul Road, Afghanistan

Jalalabad–Kabul Road is one of the most dangerous road in the world, which is located in Afghanistan. It is the 65-kilometer stretch of highway from Jalalabad to Kabul. The two-lane Kabul Gorge highway runs along 600 metre-high cliffs.

It is a two-lane highway is barely wide enough for two cars to pass. It was a tough road, and it had its own dangers. Many traffic accidents are happened here.  During snowfalls the highway remains closed and vehicles full of passengers can be waiting for hours in the bitter winter.

6. Karakoram Highway, Pakistan

Karakoram Highway is one of the most famous road to travel Pakistan. This highest paved international road is considered as the 8th wonder of the world. It connects Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region to China’s Xinjiang region.

This road is nicknamed as ‘Friendly Highway’ in China. It is 4,693 metres  above from the sea level. The road is extremely dangerous and heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime and some times block will be occured in some section of the road.

7. Guoliang Tunnel Road, China

Guoliang Tunnel is the most famous tunnel in the world. It is truly scary road which is  located high in the Taihang Mountains of the Henan Province, China. It is 1.2 km’s long, 5 m’s tall and 4 m’s wide.

The only way to reach there is to walk through a valley surrounded by steep cliff and then climb a series of cut out stone steps. It took 5 years to built it.

8. Skippers Road (New Zealand)

Skippers Canyon Road is one of New Zealand’s better known scenic road. This dangerous road is totally narrow gravel road. The length of this road is 22 kilometers. It is located in the north of Queenstown. It has a major historic relevance to the historic  of New Zealand.

The scenery  of Skippers Canyon is truly awesome. It is a popular destination for adventure lovers. There are plenty of activities which attracts the tourists like like bungy jumping, skydiving, jet boating, etc. It’s wide is enough for one car and with huge cliffs that drop off. There have some stone walls which helps the vehicles from preventing the toppling off the road. Several vehicles damages are took place there in commonly. It’s one of the only roads in New Zealand where rental car insurance isn’t covered.

9. The Stelvio Pass, Italy

Stelvio Pass is one of the dangerous and highest mountain passes at an elevation of 2,757 km from the sea level. This pass is located in the Otler Alps in Italy between Stelvio in the South Tyrol and Bormio in the province of Sondrio.

It is the highest paved roads in the East Alps consisting of 48 hairpin turns in a 15 mile stretch. It is a zig zag road which causes several accidents. It offers a dromatic scenery. The road climbs almost 2 kms and a low concrete barrier between the tourists and the steep mountain drop. The road is stil narrow but there have fastest corners to travel.

10. Los Caracoles Pass, Chile

Los Caracoles Pass is one of the dangerous road in the world which is located in Andes mountain in between Argentina and Chile. Its real name is Paso Internacional Los Libertadores, also called Paso Del Cristo Redentor. It is the main transport route out of Chilean capital city Santiago into Mendoza city in Argentina.

It is a highest pass with an extremely steep slope. The road has many steep slopes and sharp turns without fences security. Almost years it covers full of snows. There is a tunnel from the Argentina side 3,200 meters or 10,500 feet elevation. There is no safety barriers either. Trucks, double decker buses, etc s daily travel through the road. There are several accidents happened here.
